About Us

ALL ABOUT THE CREW

December 1, 2010... seven authors launched GET LOST IN A STORY. This multi-genre group of authors hoped to create a forum that not only introduces authors to readers, but where we can all explore our love of great storytelling in its various forms.  Angi wanted a blog that brought storytellers closer to the ones  reading. Writing is too often a solitary accomplishment and writers rarely make contact with their audience. "It should be fun connecting with those who love stories as much as we do."

Get Lost In A Story emphasizes interviews and posts primarily about books, but occasionally about television, film or other media, as long as fantastic storytelling is involved. We also offer debut and established authors a chance to promote their upcoming titles to readers, and in doing so, we hope to give readers the chance to connect with new and favorite authors, ask questions and make comments. There are fun giveaways, and something new to delight every day.

We hope you come back again and again, not only to meet fabulous authors, but to share your love of a good story with us. And now, let's "get lost" in the introductions...

ANGI MORGAN is an 11th generation Texan who utilizes her strong heritage to create passionate characters willing to risk everything. She writes Intrigues where danger and honor collide with love. When the house is quiet, she plots ways to engage her readers with complex story lines, throwing her hero and heroine into realistic situations they’ll never overcome...until they find the one person they can love.

Angi is a USA Today
® & Publisher's Weekly® bestselling author. A two time RWA Golden Heart® finalist and winner of the 2010 Category Series Romance: Suspense & Adventure for her debut book, HILL COUNTRY HOLDUP. In fact she won the award and her book went on sale that night at midnight. It also finaled in the Bookseller's Best and RT First Book & Best Intrigue. .38 CALIBER COVER-UP, her second Harlequin Intrigue®, was a Daphne du Maurier and Gayle Wilson Best finalist. Many of her books continue to be recognized through Best-Sellers on Amazon and other bestseller lists. In 2016, Angi was honored by Romance Writers of America® with the prestigious PRO MENTOR OF THE YEAR AWARD.

JILLIAN STONE was a first time entrant, finalist and winner of the 2010 RWA Golden Heart® for Romantic Suspense. THE YARD MAN debuted from Pocket Books in 2012.  The novel is followed by two more featuring Scotland Yard detectives who mix business with pleasure in the Victorian Romantic Suspense series. And from Kensington Brava: THE SEDUCTION OF PHAETON BLACK. A gritty, whimsical Steampunk romance recounting the amorous adventures of Phaeton Black, occult detective and his female companion, feisty Cajun beauty America Jones. Followed by an additional two  novels in the series.

She lives in Southern California a few miles north of San Diego. “I have no social life whatsoever because I am writing four more books in a year and a half. LOL! My friends and I get together mostly through e-mail. Occasionally, I escape to a movie or go out to dinner, or to an RWA meeting. When I complete my book contracts, I'll take a couple months off to travel. Research for new novels, of course! And my lap top will have to come along with me––I have stories to write!”
LIZBETH SELVIG won RWA’s 2010 Golden Heart® contest with a contemporary romance, called SONGBIRD.  It sold to Avon Books and was retitled THE RANCHER AND THE ROCK STAR.  Her second title was a 2014 RWA RITA finalist.

"I have to admit, this is pretty much my dream job!"

Weave together rich historical detail, passionate romance, add a dash of suspense and you have books by E.E.BURKEHer chosen settings are the American West, and her current series takes place during the tumultuous era of America's steam railroads.

Her writing has earned accolades in regional and national contests, including the prestigious Golden Heart®. Over the years, she’s been a disc jockey, a journalist and an advertising executive, before finally getting around to living the dream...writing stories readers can get lost in.

LARA LACOMBE began her professional life as a biomedical researcher, but quickly discovered that romance novels and happily ever afters were a lot more fun than late nights in the lab.

Her first Harlequin® Romantic Suspense released in 2013.

She started writing romance a few years ago, and the rest, as they say, is history.

NAN DIXON spent her formative years as an actress, singer, dancer and competitive golfer. But the need to eat had her studying accounting in college. Unfortunately, being a successful financial executive didn’t feed her passion to perform. When the pharmaceutical company she worked for was purchased, Nan got the chance of a lifetime—the opportunity to pursue a writing career.  She’s a five-time Golden Hear®t finalist and lives in the Midwest where she is active in her local RWA® chapter and on the board of a dance company. She has five children, two sons-in-law, three grandchildren and one neurotic cat.

Bestselling author REGAN WALKER loved to write stories as a child, particularly those about adventure-loving girls, but by the time she got to college more serious pursuits were encouraged. One of her professors suggested a career in law, and she took that path. Years of serving clients in private practice and several stints in high levels of government gave her a love of international travel and a feel for the demands of the “Crown.” Hence her romance novels often involve a demanding sovereign who taps his subjects for “special assignments.” Each of her novels features real history and real historic figures. And, of course, adventure and love.

Regan lives in San Diego with her golden retriever, Link, who she says inspires her every day to relax and smell the roses.

AVRIL TREMAYNE navigated diverse careers on her way to becoming a writer, including, shoe-selling, nursing, teaching, and public relations – most recently in global aviation. Her specialty is romantic comedy – sexy, funny, urban stories, featuring heroes to swoon over and heroines who don't know the meaning of the word swoon.

She lives in Sydney, Australia, is obsessed with food, wine and shoes, and dreams of all the exotic destinations in the world she has yet to conquer.

Avril loves connecting with readers.

AMANDA McINTYRE 's storytelling is a natural offshoot of her artistic creativity. A visual writer, living in the rich tapestry of the American heartland, her passion is telling character-driven stories with a penchant (okay, some call it a wicked obsession) for placing ordinary people in extraordinary situations to see how they overcome the obstacles to their HEA.

A bestselling author, her work is published internationally in Print, eBook, and Audio. She writes steamy contemporary and sizzling historical romance and truly believes, no matter what, love will always find a way.

National bestselling author NANCY ROBARDS THOMPSON lives and writes in Florida, but her imagination transports her all over the world. She’s worked a myriad of jobs including television show stand-in; production and extras casting for movies; and several mind-numbing jobs in the fashion industry and public relations. She earned a degree in journalism only to realize reporting “just the facts” bored her silly. Much more content to report to her muse, Nancy has found Nirvana doing what she loves most – writing contemporary and historical romance and women’s fiction full-time.

After hanging up her press pass, this two-time nominee for the Romance Writers of America’s Golden Heart struck gold in July 2002 when she won the award. Since then, she’s gone on to sell more than 30 books, which critics have deemed, “…funny, smart and observant.”

KATHERINE GARBERA is the USA Today best-selling author of more than 90 books. Writing is the chief focus of her time after her family and the only thing she likes more than working on her own books is reading other authors. She is a frequent speaker at conferences and loves the opportunity to talk about writing with anyone who'll listen.

Garbera started making up stories for her own benefit when she was on a competitive swim team in high school. Though she went to State and usually medaled at swim meets, Katherine says her heart wasn't in swimming but rather in the stories she created as she swam laps at practice.

She worked for The Walt Disney World Company for 15 years and did everything from being a hostess on It's a Small World, to saving swimmers at the Grand Floridian Resort, to touring around VIPs such as Jack Valenti at the Disney-MGM Studios and being a production page on the New Mickey Mouse Club--yes, it might be possible that Britney, Justine and Christina owe her a nod of thanks for keeping all those kids who had to go to the bathroom from interrupting their performances.

Her books have been featured in magazines such as REDBOOK (11/98)and have even been featured on the large JumboTron in Times Square, and excerpted in COSMO (7/10).

PJ FIALA has hopped from job to job trying to find a place where she fit.  Always busy, extremely organized, and creatively gifted, it was difficult to find a place she could call home.  Trying careers in hairstyling, training and development in the corporate world, real estate and finally landing in paralegal school, she found the perfect match.  The legal work, while not creative, fed her organized self while her writing fed her creative self.  A perfect marriage.

Now, weaving stories of love with flawed but loveable characters and scenarios many of us recognize as both familiar and uncomfortable, she’s happiest putting her characters through their paces.  She lives in the frozen tundra of Green Bay Wisconsin and looks for the sun to shine so she and her husband can get on their motorcycles and ride.

PJ writes contemporary romance, romantic suspense and says there’s a paranormal story beginning to rattle her brain for its story.  She loves collaborating with fellow authors who understand that readers are key and mentorship is essential.
